Vote counting underway at De La Warr Pavilion as councillors await results
The local election vote count is now underway at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill, with dozens of counters and spectators gathered inside.
Vote counting is officially underway at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill following the local elections.
1066 Directory visited the count at around 11am on May 8, where approximately 60 people were actively counting ballot papers, with a similar number of candidates, agents and members of the public spectating from nearby.
The atmosphere inside the pavilion was positive and calm, with the process appearing well organised as counting teams worked through stacks of ballot papers across multiple tables.
Visitors are currently able to watch proceedings from the upstairs viewing balcony, with members of the public welcome to observe the count.
Counting is expected to continue into the afternoon, with results anticipated later today, potentially around 4pm to 5pm depending on how proceedings progress.
The count includes several local wards across the area, with candidates and parties now waiting to learn the outcome.
Good luck to all councillors and candidates involved, and well done to the organisers and counting staff managing the event.
