Drivers are being warned of delays as resurfacing works begin on the A259 Bexhill Road in St Leonards from Monday 13 April to Friday 15 May 2026.

The works will take place between property number 199 and the Esso garage, with a mix of daytime and overnight traffic management.

During the day (7am–7pm), the road will remain open under temporary traffic lights.

Overnight (from 7pm), access will be restricted to residents only, with signed diversion routes in place via the A2036, A2691, A2690 and A21. There may be times when vehicle access is not possible due to excavation works.

Motorists should also expect additional traffic lights on Harley Shute Road to help manage congestion.

The scheme includes road repairs, full resurfacing, high-friction surfacing, and new road markings.

Residents nearby may experience noise, flashing lights, and temporary parking restrictions while the work is carried out.

All works are weather dependent.
