Sedlescombe Road North has been closed this afternoon (29 April) as emergency services respond to an ongoing incident near the BP garage.

Sussex Police confirmed they were called to the address at around 12:30pm following reports of a disturbance at a property. A cordon has been put in place at the junctions with London Road and Dukes Street as a precaution to ensure the safety of officers, the public, and the man involved.

Chief Inspector Sarah Taylor said there is no wider threat to the community and thanked the public for their patience while the situation is dealt with.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported seeing a man on the roof of a property, with some stating that tiles were being thrown. These reports have not been fully confirmed by police.

The road remains closed while emergency services continue to manage the situation.
