Local roofer opens first walk-in shop on Bexhill Road

A local roofing company has taken a new approach to customer service by opening what is believed to be the area’s first walk-in roofing shop.

McShane Roofing, owned by Jake McShane, has opened a shop front at 27 Bexhill Rd, Saint Leonards-on-sea TN38 0AH, giving customers the option to speak to a roofer face-to-face rather than relying solely on phone calls or online enquiries.

The idea behind the shop is simple — accessibility and trust. Customers can still request a free quote in the usual way, but now also have the option to walk in between 9am and 5pm to ask questions, discuss concerns, or get advice about roofing issues.

Jake said the goal is to make the process more transparent and approachable, particularly for homeowners who may be unsure about the condition of their roof or what work is needed.

Having a physical location also allows customers to deal directly with a local business in person, which can offer reassurance when making decisions about repairs or larger projects.

The shop front on Bexhill Road is fully branded and easy to spot, marking a shift from the traditional model where roofing companies operate without a public-facing premises.

McShane Roofing covers the whole of East Sussex and continues to offer free quotes alongside its new in-person service.
