F1 What these technologies do
Cookies are small records stored on a device. Similar technologies can include local storage, pixels, tags, identifiers and code that stores or accesses information on a device. Their legal treatment depends on what they do and why, not just their name or whether they are described as first party.
WordPress authentication cookies support requested login sessions. The site also uses a first-party advertising attribution cookie, a Google Analytics tag and first-party event counting. These technologies and third-party video embeds are described below.
F2 Your choice
The website currently has no on-page cookie-preference panel. You can use your browser settings to block or clear cookies and contact us at info@1066directory.com about tracking. Browser controls do not replace a consent control where one is required.
Continuing to browse, accepting business terms or submitting a contact form is not consent to optional tracking. Where consent is required, the technology should remain off until a valid choice is made, and withdrawal should stop future consent-dependent activity. Information already lawfully processed is addressed under the Privacy Policy.
F3 Advertising attribution analytics and pixels
A first-party advertising attribution cookie records an advertisement identifier after a visitor follows a qualifying advertising link. It is used to connect later on-site activity with that advert for attribution. This advertising-related device storage requires consent. The current site sets it after a qualifying link without first asking for a choice.
Google Analytics is currently loaded on public pages through a Google tag and may receive page and device information and set analytics cookies. First-party profile-view, advert-impression, advert-click and direct-referral counters also operate on the website. Their purposes and current storage are described in the inventory below.
The current site does not include Meta Pixel. Adding another provider or purpose requires an updated assessment, accurate information and any fresh consent needed. Moving event reporting to a server or removing a visible cookie does not automatically remove privacy obligations.
F4 Live technology inventory
WordPress authentication: wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_* and related cookies are set by WordPress on login for authentication and security; WordPress also uses admin preference and test cookies. Duration varies with session and Remember Me choice. Provider: this website/WordPress. Category: requested account functionality. Information: session identifiers and preferences. These cookies are first party and are not used for advertising.
Advertising attribution: dir1066_active_ad is a first-party cookie on this website. A valid dir_ad URL parameter triggers it; it contains the advertising post ID and expires after seven days. It supports advertisement/referral attribution and can affect cache handling. The current code does not wait for consent. Direct referrals also use signed dir_ref and dir_ad URL parameters; daily referral counts are stored on the server, rather than in another referral cookie.
Analytics and embeds: Google Analytics 4 uses tag G-CS13Y1HXGD, loaded from googletagmanager.com. Its default cookies include _ga and a property-specific _ga_* cookie, used to distinguish visitors; Google documents a default two-year expiry, subject to configuration and browser settings. The tag currently loads on every page without a consent check. This website’s own analytics script reports profile views and advert impressions to its WordPress server and records aggregated daily counts; advert clicks and direct referrals are also counted. No automatic deletion period for those daily counts is currently configured. News YouTube videos use a click-to-load youtube-nocookie.com player; some listing and guide videos load an embedded player immediately when present. Google/YouTube may receive browser information when a player loads. Google Fonts stylesheets are requested from fonts.googleapis.com when pages load; the browser may share network and device information with Google. No Meta Pixel runs on this website.
